We may have averted a bad presidency and few things that left deep scars in our history: Iraq and Afghanistan, the housing bubble, the surplus budget that took a deep dive and we didn't recover from it yet.
On the other hand, nobody can tell what crisis could a Gore administration create. As for Al Gore himself, he found other interests to persue and I don't feel bad for him.

What a tragedy that was. We would have never gone to war with Iraq with Gore as president. This country would be so different.

You're crazy if you think gore wouldn't have gone into Afghanistan. Bernie sanders would have gone into Afghanistan after 9/11.

Also, please explain specifically how Bush was responsible for the housing bubble? Was he encouraging irresponsible loans?

I have thought about this recently.

Gore should have demanded a hand-recount of the entire state of Florida if he believed he won. Regardless of what side you are on, recounting only a few heavily Democratic counties made it appear as though he was trying to mine votes. A fair recount of the entire state could have been done and with that, we could have known for sure who won the state.

Then, after 3000 Americans are slaughtered, these idiots go underground for a month making plans to……invade Iraq.

They should be brought up on charges for their conduct and tried before a Federal jury for gross negligence and incompetence.
For those of us who are Floridians and lived through that election we know it was stolen from Gore. We had news reports that came in that black precints in Miami didn't open until 3 PM on election due to "fire hazards".
Then the "butterfly" ballots & hanging "chads" when we should have a uniform ballot across the state.

The fact that Kathleen Harris as Sec. of State could also be Dubya's state campaign manager at the same time & certify the election results is a Conflict of Interest IMO !

The IRAQ War was pre-planned by Cheney ,Wolfowitz ,Jeb, Bill Kristol who were members of PNAC :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projec...erican_Century

9/11 was a perfect excuse to launch this pre-mediated foreign policy that resulted in the deaths of :

4500+ American Troops
100,000 + Iraqi Civilians ( God may only know the true amount murdered )

with the lie that Saddam possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction that never were found and the gullible American people bought his lie Hook, Line & Sinker under the guise of terrorism and preying upon American's fears after 9/11.
Dubya & his cabal should have been Federally investigated along with being charged with War Crimes at the Hague.

As for Gore , he was recently in Miami along with Hillary and watch how people still feel 16 years later about the 2000 Election :

He put country before himself. He was gracious and enabled a peaceful transfer of power between the Clinton and Bush Administrations instead of protracting the spectacle.

Gracious? He didn't concede until over one month after the elections.
