You are correct. The biggest reason why Congress is broken is GERRYMANDERING, which he did not address.

No it isn't. People still end up voting for the same people over and over but complain when it isn't their multi-election failure of an incumbent that did not win.

I'm pretty sure you don't understand the meaning of the word "term".

And no, people don't vote for the guy they think is OK. They vote on name recognition because they're too lazy to do their homework.

I'm pretty sure what I said went right over your head. By multiples of feet.

Good idea. Mind you one could go from house rep to senator So they could be there 18 years. That's more than enough experience

US Constitution. It must be amended to impose term limits.

The largest Congressional district has 994,416 people; the smallest has 527,624. In the House, which is meant to offer population-based representation, the smallest district is almost half the population of the largest district. There is something wrong with that.

How to fix this problem? Add house seats & reapportion. If we had 1000 house seats, each member of Congress could represent ~320,000 people. The least populous states would have 2 seats (and D.C. would have 2 seats). There would still be opportunities to gerrymander and play games with the electorate, but the would be diminished & representation would be more accurate.

I did not know civil service made laws? And it's not that they are a GS14...................wait for it................................................ ................

It's the unions that make it impossible.....

They don't make the laws, they only write them. And don't think for a minute your Congressman or Senator, or even County Commissioner or Town Councilman reads them either.

At most the vast majority (meaning 99.9999999999999%) depend on a one page outline of the law developed by staff with a recommendation on whether to vote yea or nay.

Staffers run the place. When their congressperson retires or is defeated, they just hire on with another one. Most congressmen are gone from Thursday night until Tuesday morning. Guess who runs the office and tells them what's up. Staffers.

The people could institute term limits every election day.

Don't re elect nobody.
