All the relatives I've talked to are voting Trump and hate Hillary and what Obama has been doing. As far as friends and acquaintances it's more like I ostracize them for being Hillary supporters. It tells me all I need to know about their character.

In my family and in the area where I live, you will be ostracized for NOT supporting Trump.

Do they really like and defend Hillary? Or are they voting for her because Trump is worse and they support Hillary's policies despite her corruption.

It's because they dislike Trump as a person, they dislike white males in general, and it has nothing to do with policy. Most of them are women just wanting to vote for a woman POTUS and secondly they like pretty lies over the ugly truth. So it's about personality and persona and female favoritism. I suspect a third reason is some believe Hillary will further socialism more but I don't personally know any of her supporters that have that reason.

I don't hang out with too many Hillary supporters though.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that aspect, but that is an extremely astute observation. Many women do have a tendency to prefer the little fib that prevents conflict or awkwardness than the blunt truth that could cause those things.

That's a pretty significant difference between genders if you think about it.

A friend of mine became an ardent Trump supporter early on in the primaries and began arguing with me about my refusal to support him. Once we talked through that, he explained to me that he wished he could do the same with his family ,who are mexican, because he was experiencing real difficulty with them over his position.

Yes in my experience women in particular like pretty lies and everything sugar coated, and have an aversion to the ugly and cold truth, or anyone criticizing a female no matter how deserved. But not just women, people in general though maybe not a majority of men will disregard policy. I know where my mom lives with other seniors some older men don't like Trump for his brash talk and (former) lifestyle. It's not a policy thing though because they either support the same policies or are okay with them.

It's all about smooth almost PC or sugar coated talking with the female vote but some minority of the male vote too.

Have You Been Ostracized From Family, Relatives or Friends

I think some people should stop being so sensitive. Politics is just politics, losing family and friends over it? Are people THIS crazy?
