It appears as though the mainstream media (and thier fake polls) may have become completely irrelevant and useless.

Given that the liberal media was so terribly wrong, despite thier efforts to sway the election, who will ever listen or trust them again?

It appears as though the media has made themselves completely irrelevant and unable to convey objective information and will be viewed clearly as a left wing propaganda unit, devoid of fact.

Remember when the media attempted to be objective?

I doubt the media ever really tried to be objective. I really think that's a myth. Even back in the days of the printing press you will see the most unbelievable, eye-popping tripe posing as "news."

This is not new.

Yes, that was before they became owned by giant corporations, like General Electric.

Nope.

Lots of biased propaganda tripe then too.

People were just more willing to believe it then.

Beautiful post OP. So far this is looking like a rude wake up call to them that we don't take them seriously anymore.

If Trump wins their influenfe is OVER. When was the last time you saw a positive Trump program or segment? They've overwhelmingly been pushing clinton since before the primaries.

Media is the biggest losers this elections. I knew one leaned left & the other right but still there were some journalists I respected because of their unbiased opinions. But this election they all got desperate. I think they were cash strapped because of failing economy & competition from independent sources of information so they completely sold out. I wont ever rely on them for authentic news anymore.

Hawkeye, we can blame OJ Simpson for two of the worst elements in our modern day world. The Kardashians and cable network news.

It started with the Bronco chase and trial where viewers were glued to their televisions. Some cable channels dropped their regular programming to cover these - and as a result of the high ratings, more *news channels* were created.

They thrived on drama and sensationalism, and filled the day with talking heads, while they waited for the next big story.

I think the year was 1994. This was when neutral reporting and ethical journalism went out the window. Not a recent phenomenon, but perhaps one you've only recently noticed.
