So if these Republican jokers get to fart around in government it will prove the case for Democrats.

It will prove why Republican's need to fully step out of the way and let Democrats pass the policies (in full) that they want to pass. Not this watered-down, compromise crap.

Yes, they can hurt people with their new found power (and that's the bummer) but we all know they ain't solving anything.

They will only wreck stuff up and raid the government of funds for their corporate friends, who will solve nothing with their "trickle-down" garbage, which was already tried in England and under the Bush administration and didn't do jack.

"Trickle-down", of course, being a euphemism for peeing on everybody else.

Sure, if paying more for insurance, having more debt, shifting more money to the ultra wealthy, bringing in refugees at $65k a pop, dropping more bombs in more ME countries and having more people on assistance is your measure of success.

While Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea stands by and laughs at our misery... Ironic isn't it?

Both major parties are corrupt, broken, ineffective and make promises they have no intention of keeping.
Both major parties serve corporate interests and big money donors FAR more than they do the what is best for the people.

If you think one side is better than the other of that giving them a free reign without any checks would be a GOOD thing, you are part of the problem.

This is the problem with the liberal mindset in a concise nutshell.
It's basically, "We know best, so shut up and do what you are told"

You saw it after Brexit and you see it here in America now that Trump has won.
Liberals just can't stand when their elitist, "superior" worldview is not allowed free reign

If liberal policies were so great the liberals would have won the election. They didn't, so that says it all right there.

People want things to change and the same old BS the liberals bring isn't what the nation wants or needs.

Lying to the people should have taught the Democrats something about the election--I see no lessons learned here.

If the democratic policies had worked so well, Trump wouldn't have been elected.

Wake up, this wasn't about Republicans, this was about the issues at hand.

Yes and now.

You do realize Medicare (plus the fed/state Medicaid programs) and Social Security are two of the biggest budget busters in this country.

People complain about the iraq/middle east war costing 1-2 trillion. Yes that true.

But to put money and spending into context:

Medicare alone consumes 800 BILLION PER YEAR and it's still growing with an aging population.

That's LBJ's 1964 Democratic social program.

Social Security won't be around as we know it. They claim there is a surplus in the trust. Except it's a big IOU piggy bank. That trust has been raided to pay for other government program.

Medicaid consumes 20-30% of state's budgets as well. It's just crazy. Social programs.
