TV hosts, executives gather in New York for ‘reset’ meeting with Trump

Trump hosted more than a dozen TV executives and hosts at Trump Tower midday for what senior adviser Kellyanne Conway called a “reset” meeting following the election. Conway did not say what was discussed, describing the meeting as “off-the-record.”

“It was very cordial, very productive, very congenial,” Conway told reporters in the lobby, according to a pool report. “It was also very candid and very honest. From my own perspective, it’s great to hit the reset button. It was a long, hard-fought campaign.”

Attendees from the five major networks, who started trickling into the lobby around 12:30 p.m., included CNN President Jeff Zucker, NBC News President Deborah Turness, Fox News presidents Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine, and Fox News executive vice presidents Jay Wallace and Suzanne Scott, according to a pool report. Wolf Blitzer and Erin Burnett of CNN; Lester Holt and Chuck Todd of NBC; George Stephanopoulos, David Muir and Martha Raddatz of ABC; and John Dickerson, Gayle King, Norah O’Donnell and Charlie Rose of CBS were among the anchors and hosts spotted entering the building.

It will be interesting to see if there is any change in the Trump/media hostile dynamic that is currently in play.

NY Times and other journalists are on the docket for tomorrow.

He should be kissing their arses for giving him 2 billion dollars of free publicity.

They should be kicking each other's asses for being such morons.

Trump played them, and they allowed their egos to get played.

Just desserts.

Are you saying that the Washington Post is credible?

I keep hearing that it's not.

How do we know this article is true?

A more honest press is your greatest fear.

No reporter, TV executive, journalist, editor, network chief or publisher worth his or her salt would consider Trump their "principal".

We have something called freedom of the press in this country. It is not dependent on the wishes of the person sitting in the Oval Office. Trump can say whatever he wants to them. But if he thinks he's going to control the press or tone them down...lol...rotsa ruck. That not how freedom of the press works. It is, thank you founding fathers, protected by the First Amendment.

That is what I thought until I read that they did this to garner sponsorship as if this campaign was just an offshoot of the reality show. All they cared about was the bottom line...there was no journalistic integrity.

There are some media outlets that have shown regret, but **** them too!

Despite some outstanding coverage of Trump, on the whole we in the media empowered a demagogue and failed the country. We were lap dogs, not watchdogs
