It appears so. He certainly has the "looks." I don't know what it is but if I saw him in his pajamas I could tell he is military. This is a great piece on him. My favorite quote?

It's hard to take any military guy seriously when you look at all the useless wars/invasions/coups that have been waged with disasterous results since WWII. He's got the perfect attitude...

If you have to have a defense department you might as well put someone in charge who is taken seriously. Tell me this. With Trump as the commander in chief and Mattis at DoD, you think the Iranians would circle our ships and taunt us again?
