In the past, we operated off of a foundation of morals (good or not) handed down to us through religion, generally accepted societal rules/norms, and close-knit family/communities. But now we're living in an age where the individual is further removed from these institutions and is becoming a law unto her/himself. Progressives take it further by re-defining the fabric of morality, yet lacking a solid framework to build upon.

This is dangerous, because without a solid grounding; rules, laws, and morality can change with the direction of the wind; and with no goal to achieve, no real endgame, because the goal itself is to be continually progressive. Furthermore, with ideas and ideals ever changing, and therefore conflicting with each other within progressive camp itself, how then can a people governed by progressives ever feel stable or secure?

The "morality" progressives do possess is unstable at best, and things once considered taboo, or even criminal (defined as such to protect the interests of the larger society) can easily be made norm in a society influenced by progressives. Example: making illegal immigration "okay," allowing any gender to use any gender-specific bathroom of their choice, etc. Here's a disturbing video where a liberal believes father/daughter incestuous relations should be provided a safe space
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyOUa2lmyPM (forward to 1:22)

Progressives repeat old mistakes over and over because they dismiss the standards of the past and fiercely continue on looking forward only. Their warcry is the lyrics to the song, Imagine: "no heaven" "no countries" "people living for today" "living life in peace"... though the reality is, disagree with the progressive's idealism flavor-of-the-month, and you'll be met with anything but peace. They don't want freedom--it's totalitarianism disguised as a pretty little cupcake.

I think it is being dishonest to insinuate that liberals as a group support safe spaces for incest between father and daughter. No less dishonest than insinuating that conservatives as a group are racists (they are not!).

The problem with Progressives is that they have no principles... They only have goals.

Would you rather live in "godless" Denmark or theocratic Iran. Secularism is always preferable, to assume otherwise would be against the constitution.

Yeah...the left need to find a candidate that grabs strange *****, cheats on his wife and swindles unsuspecting victims with a bogus university...now that's morals!

It was the progressive/liberal moral compass that instituted Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare to take care of the most vulnerable members of our society. And it is the oh-so-holier-than-thou Conservatives who want to dismantle it and throw those people out into the street with no safety net to help them survive.

Yeah, that's a great moral compass you've got going there, OP.

Give us a break. If you believe that you are truly delusional and smoking main stream media lies. Progressive liberals do not have a monopoly on caring for people and conservatives care too.

What people like you seem not to understand is that there is a cost for these programs and so far it's been funded by passing massive debt onto our children and grandchildren. We are in MASSIVE debt of unsustainable proportions. You want these programs to be there for you - you better wake up to the fact that you can't have everything and give stuff away without consequence.

No, they understand. It's all about priorities on where to spend on what. You complain about funding social safety nets, but you don't bat an eye when it comes to wasting billions on the military industrial complex and regime change around the world.

That's not what the OP is claiming. He's saying that progressives/liberals have no moral compass. I was simply showing him he was wrong.

So instead we will institute yet another massive tax cut for the top percentile--who already holds the majority of the wealth in this country as it is and certainly doesn't need more--and take the difference from the poorest and most vulnerable among us. That seems to be the Conservative's idea of morality.

Why Progressive Liberalism is Dangerous: No Moral Compass

Who told you? One of those Regressive Conservatives with a strong moral compass?

Rudy Giuliani?
Newt Gingrich?
Mark Sanford?
Dennis Hastert?
Larry Craig?
Bob Packwood?
Ted Haggard?
Etc., etc., etc. .................................................. ......

It's so laughable and predictable every time someone mounts that high moral and claims Liberal moral inferiority. Let's all listen for the inevitable SPLAT! when they realize they have NO idea how to ride that horse.
