Who here understands the H1B program

What happens is, a company lays off say 3,000 people, and applies for 5,000 foreign visas...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-1B_visa

true, they are here for a limited amount of time, then they bring in another group waiting to come in...they all live in apartments, and travel to work together...much cheaper for them, and for the company...

Many American people are being laid off and actually having illegals take their jobs....
Illegals no longer covers just Mexican people....and anyone who comes into work on the H1B program isn't considered by the government as an illegal.

Our country is being over run by refugees, illegals from all over the world....

Our government is doing it's best to get these people in there before the next election....

It is crazy what is being done to our country....not to mention, all the sympathizers that have no idea what all the chaos this is causing our country, plus the expense and lack of respect for our laws....and it's people.

I live in an area, which is being over run by illegals....people are renting to them, b/c there are a few very large meat packing plants in the area. No one does anything about it...every year, there are fights there, with attacks with guns and knives. You don't even hear it reported on the news...or they report it one evening and then it's forgotten. They keep it all very quiet.

In NJ, they are presently having a problem with hand foot and mouth disease....I haven't heard of that in years....however, 5 schools in NJ is reporting this disease. People laugh at you when you suggest that illegals coming in from other countries are bringing in these diseases....and again, the news doesn't report this....they are keeping it very quiet.

As cases spread, what you need to know about Hand, Foot and Mouth disease | NJ.com

The HB1 Program is bringing in tons of people from overseas to work for them and it's all perfectly legal. Most of these people are from India....

There are others coming in from Muslim countries, Syria, and more...they live 15 to an apartment, or more, and their kids are not clothed, running around in diapers, when police are called, it's difficult for them to even walk into these apartments, due to the smell...and they are not working, but living off of our system.

What are we to do about this?

If we protest it, we are called bigots, racists...and yet, it is hurting our country...in so many ways....

Not sure why you are trying to marry "H1B" with "illegal immigration", when H1B is perfectly legal.

Trump supports H1B 100%, and I think Hillary does too, so why would you say the above?

H1B is a drop in the ocean compared to the real problem, which is sending US jobs to India. H1B workers are small in numbers, and they live and pay taxes in US.

Yes, it is perfectly legal, however, the people that are coming here to work the program are not, they are still illegals, are they not? They are not legal citizens.

I know they both do, and that is only b/c this information isn't out there, a lot of people do not know this has been going on for years....

They're legally present in the US - not citizens. It takes 5 years of legal presence before one can even apply for citizenship (with some exceptions). And it's massively abused.

Put a tax on these visas that require payments in salary that are 25% over average wages here and see how many are then invited here. Put the tax money into the payments against the national debt.

There is a simple rule that can alleviate pain of US citizens when it comes to H1b.

At the time of job interview the rule should be that a US citizen should have preference over someone on a visa.

This simple policy can do wonders.

Nobody would becoming into the USA if they did not have work. Legal, not legal. H1B, and visa overstays, whatever.

The USA businessman is the employer and citizens are buying the products.

You want it stopped?

Stop buying the products.

That is already a policy.

Well, H1Bs are tied to a specific position/employer and the employer already has had to make a case that the positions just can't be filled with someone already present in the US.

The employers are of course lying massively about this, but it's so damn convenient to have a workforce that can't go looking elsewhere and will be deported if laid off. They don't make waves about long hours, you know? Plus they're as much working for the chance of permanent residency as they are for fiscal compensation - that's a benefit that doesn't cost the employer a red dime.
