lol. Its quite big in Australia, I wouldn't be concerned about a paywall Daily Telegraph report. This paper is Australia's version of the Daily Mail, just more rupert murdoch owned crap.

As for Movember, I think its a fantastic initiative, and I know it has helped men to speak up on a range of issues, and raise awareness for prostate cancer.

Exactly. But it will enter the Echo Chamber of the Rage Industry and feed the rage addicted.

For about a decade, men across the globe have forgone shaving in November to raise awareness about men’s health issues, from prostate cancer to male suicide.

The tradition had a good run, but now, suddenly, No-Shave November (also known as Movember) is apparently problematic.

Social-justice warriors worldwide have rushed to point out how the month-long event, regardless of its good intentions, is too gendered. In a nearly unintelligible sentence published by Sydney’s Daily Telegraph this month, one critic wrote: “It’s disappointing that what could’ve served as a much-needed dialogue about the many ways in which men, trans men included, can express their masculinity without resorting to chauvinist caricatures is in danger of devolving into at best a pissing contest between bros about who can grow the most facial hair to prove their manliness and at worst an implicit endorsement of 1950s-style gender norms, complete with transphobia.”

'No-Shave November,' After a Decade of Success, Is Now Under Attack for Being Too Masculine |Heat Street

The feminist community is divided on this issue. Specifically, I've seen an argument by a lesbian separatist, claiming that men who choose this type of surgery in order to 'become' a woman, are actually violating the bodies of all 'womyn-born' women. Darned if you do and darned if you don't I guess.

Never heard of it. The whole issue of who should shave what is certainly rich fodder for potential debates. In the interest of good taste, I will limit my comments to the following:

If you grow the beard, please keep it clean. Remnants of a Thanksgiving feast clinging to your facial hair are not much of an inducement to romance.

I need to stop now. I really, really do.

The women can stop shaving for a month if they want. Of course, keep them slacks on ladies.

Men grow beards; women do not. Opposing men not shaving in November or any other month is a lost cause.
