That pizzagate garbage is nothing but ignorant BS spread on social media and could have sparked deaths. There is no basement in the pizza. There is no secret tunnel through the bookstore. It was all created to bash Clinton, like the lies about her health and pretty much everything else the alt-right and Russians came up with.
Due to Trump and his cult's disdain for actual facts, these idiotic stories spread like wildfire.
It was further spread by nut job Flynn, the new head of the NSA, (unbelievable right?) and his moronic son who is even nuttier than his father--the son claims the nutjob with a gun was a hoax. This is one of the more disgusting and pathetic lies to come out of the alt-right war against Clinton. Both of the Flynns owe Clinton, Podesta, the pizzeria and the country an apology.

Nonsense. Facebook is in legal trouble because of it. There really were fake news stories.
We should all fight this latest thing. It used to be emails sent among rightwing individuals. Then it progressed to stories by individuals spread by email and on social media (like the crazy birther emails and posts, some of which were fake, like the supposed "real" Kenyan birth certificates). Now it's apparently progressed to articles made to intentionally fool people into thinking they are legitimate news articles.
We need to be able to rely on our news sources as real. It's a cornerstone of our society and integral to democracy.

I'm ahead of the Left. They gave away the Internet to the globalists at ICANN so that they can still censor us in case Hillary lost. Now, they probably intend to crack down on "fake news", making Putin, Kim Jung Un, Raul Castro, Justin Trudeau, Angela Merkel, etc grin at how they can shut down all opposition.
I see how Facistbook and others are helping the EUSSR and Merkel silence all dissent there against the migrant invasion (what you might hear as "refugee resettlement").
People can scream about the bias in the mainstream media all they want, but they are mainstream because they have shown that they are accountable for the stories they publish. Unlike some website fake-news garbage, you know who wrote them (or broadcast them), you know who owns the media outlet, and the mainstream media regularly owns up to mistakes of fact.. Sometimes those mistakes are minor, like spelling a name Mr. Green instead of Mr. Greene. But even when they are embarrassingly huge, like Brian William's false war stories on NBC or Judith Miller's wrongheaded stories in the NYT about the Iraq war and WMD, they will take responsibility and try to change the circumstances that caused it.
They are certainly not always right. But they also not dishonest--which is refreshing at a time when something like Fox News presents itself as "Fair And Balanced" while its in the pocket of the Tea party and the GOP.

Books have been written about urban rumor. I started paying attention when somebodies cousins knew a woman who put her tiny dog in the microwave to dry it. And the next was a young boy having his man parts cut off by thugs at the movie restroom.
Now comes the problem of the tv and print. When something gets on the wire services, such as AP, they report it without checking.
It was weeks before the NPR reporter was fired for putting out the story about Sanders delegates throwing chairs at people at the Nevada state convention. All the stations and papers carried it as fact.
It was total BS. Never happened.
Now there are the teeenagers in eastern Europe just putting stuff on FB and such, making 3 times the national monthly wage, putting out crap. So far, I have read from real sources about two American guys putting stuff on FB or news sites
They are making $125000 a year making up stuff to get hits. Just like whoever put out the piece about pedophiles and the pizza joint. Conspiracy people love,it and make the presenter tons of money.
