Aa it becomes increasingly clear to the folks over there in Left Field that they're not likely to get their way regarding the Presidential Election, the calls for "action" are getting stronger.
So it's time for those of us who have been acting quietly and responsibly for the past year or more to tread very carefully. Looking back at the last great political "spasm" of 1968, few actions did more to legitimize those parts of the "liberal" agenda, (which was mostly the usual statist garbage, but had a handful of valid points) than over-reaction in the form of the Chicago Police at the Democratic Convention, and the Ohio National Guard at Kent State two years later.
So as the pressure for a confrontation builds, let's keep our powder dry, rather than create martyrs for an increasingly-irrational opposition. Someone -- more likely more than one someone -- among the collection of overgrown children on the other side will do more than enough to discredit their folly on his/her own.

Even if they do. it won't make the news. There were lots of protestors at the first GWB inauguration. They were throwing tomatoes at his car. My son saw it. He has pictures. Never made the news. He was also at Obama's. Did not see anything. Sometime the protestors are roped off far from the event.
Those of us who hold to a conservative, or simply more respectful approach, ought to be able to get our point across without resorting to vulgarity; consider for a moment, the tactics used by mainstream veterans against the Westboro Baptist Church's simpletons. The groundswell among soft-spoken, but determined voters of ordinary means in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan is further proof that the numbers are there, and we can win converts from groups usually identified with the Democrats -- if we stay on the higher path and keep our dignity.

It would be one giant waste of time.
I was in DC for Bush's first inauguration. And while what you write about the protesters is certainly true (i.e. in that there were many, disruptive protesters), their manic antics did make the news (both video and print media), unfortunately. The media were just as unfavorable to Bush as they are to Trump (well, they are arguably even less favorable to Trump, but they were still terrible to Bush) and there was no way in hell they would not show the disruption.
Tossing food when so many go hungry in DC? Tsk. Tsk.
Inauguration Day is usually a weekday.
Identify as many as possible, take a lot of photos, post them online and tell their employers. Unless they are fired, you will boycott their products. If they are violent or destroy property get good photos of them.
