Hopefully this was the right guy. Scary how many innocents end up on death row.

Even if the lawyers force us to continue to use injections to execute criminals I wonder why we do not use the same drugs that veterinarians use to terminate critters from gerbil to horse size? These seem to work very well.

My biggest objection to the death penalty is the uncertainty that the criminal is actually guilty of the crime and the absurd delays between conviction and execution. The first can be remedied by having a separate judge and panel review the trial outside of the criminal system of the State where the trial was held and the second by having the execution within a month of the results of the review.

This.

Guillotines weren't failsafe or problem-free.

Or the firing squad. Btw I'm running a slight sniffle right now and I'm coughing too. I'm going to call CNN.

To keep him from killing other people. That's why cops carry guns. Plus if the death penalty is government sanctioned killing then isn't prison government sanctioned kidnapping?

Well seeing as how he bragged about it to his friends while describing the noises the victim made after being shot in the head it's pretty likely it wasn't a mistake.

Note, while its not clear if the man was actually conscious during this fit (could've been involuntary spasms in reaction to the drugs that happened when man was unconscious), I refuse to get worked up over the possibility that a murderous maniac felt pain during his execution.
i agree. he did the crime, now he takes the punishment, and in my opinion it should be as painful as possible on anyone that gets the death penalty. personally i think we need to bring back the guillotine for executions.

Proud to live in a country that sanctions state-sponsored murder, are you?
