Every time the subject comes up someone's always whining about how it infringes upon the rights of welfare recipients.

Me? I'm all for it. If you're on welfare because you've fallen on hard times and are working in earnest to turn your life around by getting a job, stay clean/sober, going to school or in any other way be a more self sufficient person then I bear you no ill will but what about my right not to have to fund the lives of deadbeats, junkies and other assorted losers who are just gaming the system? If you don't want to be drug tested then don't have your handout. Pretty simple.

What about the mentally/physically disabled who receive welfare assistance, should they be drug tested?

Absolutley! Doesn't matter age, health or anything. Testing for all. The majority of people that actually work for a living have to be drug test, so why can't people that are getting hand outs.

I'm not against it.

However, I do wonder about those who are not given help that have innocent children who will suffer as a result. I also don't want more people feeling inclined to rob me because they cannot eat.

Yes they should. There's a big difference between someone working for a living or being disabled than someone who has their hand out expecting the government to support them.

Although I generally take a limited government/libertarian approach to many things it's a no brainer that "innocent children whose parents are junkies or otherwsie exhbit harmful behavior should have their children taken away.
