I think we should note that Russia voted for the resolution, so effectively Obama sided with, gasp, the evil Putin on this, while Trump forcefully said the US should veto it.

Israel has frozen construction a few times, under the Obama Administration, already in an attempt to get the Palestinian Authority (Abbas) to start talks. Yet Abbas aborted them all. Why should Israel listen to a resolution when their counterpart refuses to do anything in return? No matter what Israel does, Abbas will create a new item for Israel not to do.
Yes they have stopped construction at times but they have always continued, even today they ignore the world and continue. There is no reason for Israel to continue with settlements, it accomplishes nothing and destroys any remote prospects for peace.

Aren't you reading? Iran see's the U.S. as the great satan and they chant Death to America. They also think they can usher in the end times. Yea, sounds crazy but if they get nukes they can do a lot of killing. Just because we are less dependent on their oil and hopefully even less once Obama leaves, we still need intelligence or they will rein terror on the U.S. as they never did before, so far to them it's child's play. And without Israel we won't have the intel. They want to kill the infidel... that is you and me.
