I don't like eating crow. That's why I wait to weigh in on hot topics unless I'm being silly and/or facetious. But if I err and am called on it, I simply say you are right, my bad, and thanks.
With the modern media, you're playing it smart.

I remember some shipyard shooting a year or so ago.

The "shooter" based on various reports was anywhere between 1-3 in number, black or white and 30-50 years old and many combinations in-between. They're just reporting ANYTHING to fill airtime.

I just hope it happens later than sooner.... actually not at all. But i got a feeling it is going to. Man i hate my gut feelings.
There are always challenges/tests to a new president from our foes (and Russia is our foe). With Trump being so naive about Putin, there will surely be a "who's your daddy?" test coming from the Russians early on. I doubt it will be the grid. More likely they will shoot down a US plane or sink a ship. If something more today happens, it could be along the lines of bringing down the stock exchanges.

The reporting was so thin, "Russian virus on laptop at power company" was pretty much the only facts presented.

It's embarassing to watch and frankly dangerous because it numbs us to not believing the news even when they might have a valid story.

We're not talking some idiot spouting opinion on Fox or MSNBC but stuff being presented at NEWS.

That's what makes stories like this so distasteful.
Exactly what I thought.......this in itself is a legit story. Where I work porn sites are quickly blocked and I know I am going to get fired for accessing them at work for this very reason. It's a legit local story to ask why the power company is not better protecting their computers.

I don't think so. Trump is far more valuable to them if he is in their pocket, where they can control him. They need him to lift sanctions, pour money into their economy, and support Russian foreign policy.

Good point. They already own him. It's more likely this sort of thing will come from China, or North Korea.

Bombs? LOL

Sounds like the king of hyperbole.

Some knucklehead got a virus on his laptop. A virus which the Russian government had nothing to do with.

WaPo's story was fake. You fell for it hook, line & sinker.

Agreed. They just decided to "sexy it up" by trying to tie it in to the Russian hacking scandal.

I have to admit, this is really the poster child for fake news and a bunch of politicians already bit hook line and sinker.

Think about the position that puts Putin in now? He can mock and point to the false claims in the international media that the other claims are equally contrived.

It is kind of funny how good those who have wanted to condemn Putin has made him look. Putin is a pretty miserable guy but now he looks as the more reasonable one compared to Obama.

This all goes back to Putin making Obama look bad in Syria.

Washington Post retracts story about Russian hack at Vermont utility

The Washington Post has retracted its story about Russian hackers penetrating the nation’s electricity grid with a virus found in a Burlington, Vt., electric company laptop.

News of the supposed hack had set off a firestorm of recriminations, with Vermont leaders calling Russian President Vladimir Putin “a thug” earlier Saturday, after one of the state’s electric utilities found a virus on a laptop computer.

A utility spokesman has also told the Burlington Free Press the laptop was not hooked into the grid.

Fake News..... To set a narrative of lies. Nothing has changed.
