Let's congratulate Milo on this YUGE victory! He was a very influential voice in the LGBTQ community this year and this is well deserved.

Milo Yiannopoulos named LGBTQ Nation

Quote:
Hate him or love him, one thing Yiannopoulos truly excels at is getting attention for himself and his causes. If he decides to highlight an issue, his fans will follow his every word on the subject and more often than not, it’ll get moved to a mainstream audience as the story picks up steam from online chatter. For a gay guy from Britain, he has truly made his mark on conservative American politics and entertainment. He’s been able to brand himself the ultimate gay provocateur in a year of provocateur

A "Yuge" victory? Both he and Breitbart promoted the open poll. Hence homophobic Pence coming in 2nd place - it was a troll vote.

I'm surprised it wasn't a split vote between Bert and Ernie.

My personal opinion about him is that

1. guy carries himself quite well, no one can seem to stump him.

2. guy seems to be a troll most of the time, but this is just his style

3. he has a snarky sense of humor that I find very entertaining / seems like a good friend material, regardless of his gender and sexual orientation.

4. He seems to take his time and effort to connect with his fans. I think he is more like a star, than a political person.

He is brilliant!

I am generally not impressed by either flamboyance or conservative talking heads, but I have seen Milo destroy people. He is an excellent debater. The Right is lucky to have him.

The Left needs a staunchly heterosexual white male with a long beard, sweat-ringed camoflage ball cap, and a cabinet full of guns and wall of hunting trophys who can successfully defend single payer health care and Basic Universal Income to counteract him.

I could see Milo winning... he's influencial, hot, controversial, endearing himself to many conservatives who find themselves caring about his ideas over his sexual preference, and the "real" Alt-Right hates his guts. I think those could be valid reasons, but Pence coming in second unfortunately makes it a joke.

Say what you want about Milo, but he's bringing a lot of young people (both straight and gay) into the Conservative fold.

Followed by Pence? Perhaps - this is just speculation, mind you - but perhaps people didn't take this poll quite seriously?

Milo is popular among gay Republicans and Conservatives. Like I said, he's an up-and-coming star. I'm not a huge fan, but apparently other young people are.
