Back to the point - if the Palestinians are alliowed to leave, why don't they (just to save their lives from gas chambers)?
The best example is further north: Syrian refugees in large numbers desperately flee their homes to avoid certain death by the government and other Muslim brothers. Is there something they know but the Palestinians miss?

Under Palestinian Authority law, the widows of “Shahids” are entitled to receive monthly stipends for the rest of their lives. The family of a martyr is eligible to receive a minimum of 1,400 shekels each month, while the wife receives an additional 400 shekels.
