There is no end to the list of things that Big Government Control Freaks want to control. They see every activity as an opportunity for Big Government to expand its power and control. This is one of the worst laws.
--------
Several Tampa Food Not Bombs members were arrested on January 7th, 2017 at Lykes Gaslight Park in downtown Tampa while holding their regular Saturday food share in defiance of an unjust city ordinance that criminalizes compassion and kindness.

Tampa Police Department (TPD) and the city of Tampa have a history of arresting and harassing Food Not Bombs as its members refuse to comply with homeless hate laws that seek to disappear those suffering in our community in the interest of protecting businesses and corporations from losing tourist dollars.

Of course the government needs to take care of the needy when it prevents others from doing it.

they decided they stop petty theft and other crime if they divert them to the homeless shelter-- which is really very good-- I used to live in Tampa - here in Orlando, Im waiting to see one get killed walking about - I help when I can but- dangerous it is
Miami has Camillus house they did the same- because of FL warmer weather we get all the darn snow birds and thousands of homeless- back around 2004 think the estimate was over 5000 down town alone in Miami sleeping there under the canopies etc. -- many are sick, infested- skitzo- pedophiles- druggies better the shelter

Have some compassion, they need to be given some free section 8 houses next to the Obamas and the Clintons. In fact I think we should put affordable section 8 housing next to every Liberal in congress so they can be more in touch with America.

The so-called homeless hate laws were enacted by representatives of the people and represent the desire of the people of Tampa, which include those businesses. If the Food Not Bombs people were truly interested in the welfare of the homeless, they would look for a way to negotiate and compromise with the City instead of getting arrested. The open disregard of the law and the turning of the homeless into pawns shows that this drama is as much about SJWs seeking a life purpose as anything else.

I doubt that more than 5% of the population in Tampa are even aware of this law.

I don't agree. The law is a wasteful example of over regulation. Laws like this all over the country should be exposed and opposed.

The way to expose such ridiculous laws is to do exactly what this group is doing.

No. They are just trying to eliminate competition. That's their right too.

Most government regulation benefits the established big businesses. There are lots of examples where regulations protect the establishment.
