The spy is likely someone in the trusted inner circle of Putin that has inside information. The SPY would likely be killed if anyone in Russia found out who it is. It takes years and decades for spys to infiltrate and be trusted insiders of who they spy on. They cannot just come out of say who they are unless they cease being a spy. Even then, it could compromise their family and their connections. The spy could be someone's spouse, could be an insider in the Russia government, could be a girlfriend or cleaning lady or the butler or the limo driver.

What's interesting is that it's claimed that a private investigator collected all this information and none of the US/UK intelligence services were involved in monitoring activities that could've resulted in criminal investigations. You would think they would have tracked the investigation and brought in the private investigators for interrogation. They're not going to be able to contact high level political and business associates of Putin without attracting the attention of the CIA/FBI/NSA/MI5. It smells a little like the Niger Yellowcake fraud where the CIA claimed they were duped by Italian military intelligence. They don't have to answer to any of the substance in the report.

Because Trump, with his worldwide investments, big mouth, big ego, thin skin and reputation as p***y grabber and peeping-tom, makes a much easier target than Obama. Also, Trump has been on the front pages for decades, giving them plenty of time and material, while Obama came out of nowhere in 2008. Obama didn't have the past, or the reputation. Trump=easy target. People are much more likely to believe a dirty secret (real, or fake) about Trump than Obama (or Bush).

My guess is that they have some actual info on him, which is financial, and they might play fake news on him when it suits the purpose. Either way, he is going to get played like no US president ever before.

So either Trump is being blackmailed or he's playing footsie with a Russian dictator of his own free will.

Which is it?
Excellent point. Trump has backed himself into a corner with regard to Russia by defending them at every opportunity; by tweeting praise to Putin; by refusing to say ANYTHING derogatory about them. Meanwhile, he degrades the America people at every turn.

He is going to be one godawful president. Hell, just this 'honeymoon' period has been a total disaster.

Funny how the right is so disturbed about this kind of thing now that the tables are turned.
Some people still think 9/11 was a hoax, too. My comment was about the news needing to be more careful about what they publish, and if they run with something that turns out to be blatantly false, they should be required to correct themselves in the same manner they aired the original story. I could care less which 'side' the story is on.

Isn't it though?

The outrage over info that may or may not be true from the contingency that quotes Brietbart on a regular basis.

Please.
