About time. Too bad there won't be time to prosecute Comey before the Trumpsters take over and award him the Medal of Freedom.

Washington (CNN)The Justice Department's internal watchdog announced Thursday it has launched a probe into the department and the FBI's handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server.

The announcement, which was expected, comes after criticism of the Justice Department's handling of the investigation, particularly on how the public was notified about the controversy, which was a major issue on the 2016 campaign trail.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz said the decision to initiate a review was prompted by requests from numerous members of Congress and public inquiries.

Horowitz's office said the review will examine several allegations, including that DOJ or FBI policies were not followed when FBI Director James Comey publicly stated last July that his bureau would not pursue criminal charges against Clinton; that DOJ and FBI employees improperly disclosed non-public information; and that the timing of the FBI's release of certain Freedom of Information Act requests right before the election was improper.

The dems won't want to look too closely, because if this coverup gets any more public attention, the public could force a real investigation into Hillary's espionage.

About time? I think they're doing it so the next administration doesn't feel like they have to.

This crooked DOJ under the corrupt Loretta Lynch is investigating wrongdoing in its own department? That would be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating.

It'll be interesting to see where (if anywhere) this goes. I think there was a hell of a lot of very suspicious activity going on behind the scenes on this, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are prosecutable felonies on both sides of the aisle. There are a lot of ways this could potentially go, and no matter who's in charge of the investigation, they may find some pretty easy targets.

I'll bet they'll wrap it up in five days and say they've completed the investigation and found no wrongdoing. They'll say they felt compelled to clear it all up before the next administration comes in, as though they're ethical do-gooders.

They did nothing about Lynch on the plane, did nothing about Weiner sexting with an underage girl, nothing about Hillary perjuring herself, so we know they're corrupt. What purpose could this possibly serve other than trying to head further investigations off at the pass?

They could just want to blame Comey and try to charge him with something. He is their scapegoat.

Nothing is going to happen, this is a dog, and pony show by the dems. If you think the Trump administration is going to allow those in the DOJ that covered up the crimes of Hillary to blame this all on Comey, and say this was all a witch hunt, think again.

The only hope for Hillary supporters is that they can do this investigation, and indict Comey in about a week.

Good Luck with that.
