Well given the facts at hand Donald Trump is the legitimate president elect of the United States despite concerns about Russian hacking. There will be congressional inquiries about this matter just as Trump takes office and there's going to be a shadow of doubt over this whole business.

What bothers me is the conservative outrage over Donald Trump's victimization by some members of the population and the press when in fact many of these same people were part of the birther movement meant to delegitimize and undermine President Obama.

Not sure if this is only after today's meeting with Comey.
It has nothing to do with the meeting with Comey and the other 3 leaders of Intelligence organizations (although whatever they were told "Outraged" them).

This is about a short clip released today of an "exclusive" interview between John Lewis and Chuck Todd for NBC's Meet the Press ...... to be released on Sunday's Meet the Press.

The Loser Leftists appear to be determined to push the false narrative that the "Russians" stole the election from the Presumptive Queen ........ it doesn't matter to them that ALL of the Intelligence agencies (17 of them) have said the Elections were NOT compromised in any way. It doesn't matter to them that she was a Horrible Candidate with a Bag Full of ethical/legal problems who ignored her "Blue Wall" by not even visiting them (i.e. the Black Vote that she was entitled to and could ignore) and spent $1.2 BILLION dollars ..... and LOST.

The unbearable smugness of the press |CBS News - 11/10/16
The mood in the Washington press corps is bleak, and deservedly so.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that, with a few exceptions, we were all tacitly or explicitly #WithHer, which has led to a certain anguish in the face of Donald Trump’s victory. More than that and more importantly, we also missed the story, after having spent months mocking the people who had a better sense of what was going on.

This is all symptomatic of modern journalism’s great moral and intellectual failing: its unbearable smugness. Had Hillary Clinton won, there’d be a winking “we did it” feeling in the press, a sense that we were brave and called Trump a liar and saved the republic.

The Democratic Party is in tatters - a lot of people (and Policies) are responsible for that - they are ALL in a deep denial. I have no idea if this party will recover, but diving to the bottom of the River of De-Ny-All is probably not their best move. The November elections shows that the Mainstream Americans are FED-UP with this stuff. Normal "change" is not enough - the Political Elite Establishment think more of their Entitlement than they do about the people who elected them.

I've been saying it for years ..... the American Public (the silent majority that the Elites made fund of) is FED-UP. It was a matter of time - AND the unexpected candidate that was NOT afraid of the Media to get the job finally done.

He may fail - we tried the normal paths of "throw out the bums" in Congress and change the mix. The Democrats were drummed out of the House and then drummed out of the Senate - nothing "changed".

Donald J. Trump is like no other President the USA has ever seen -- we will see how he does and John Lewis has decided to go to the very back seat of the Train ...... HIS CHOICE. #Sore-Loser

Look ~ nothing is forcing you to read these threads. IF they so bother you - just pass them by and look for the ones that only offer praise for your Dear Leader.

Given that Trump spent 5 years questioning Obama's legitimacy as a president and American Citizen - I'm on board with a little turnabout is fair play.

Get over it.

That's exactly right. A quick Google search and you could have found out that Trump has been lying to you about this all along.

It's been "debunked," as they say, numerous times.

"PolitiFact and our friends at FactCheck.org and the Washington Post Fact-Checker have debunked this zombie claim multiple times."

"There is no evidence that Clinton or her 2008 campaign ever floated the theory. While Clinton supporters circulated the allegations the last time she ran for president, they had no ties to either the candidate or her staff."

"The Sept. 15 Trump campaign statement linked to a 2007 strategy memo published in the Atlantic from former Clinton aide Mark Penn that advises pointing out Obama’s "lack of American roots."

"While Penn suggests Clinton "own ‘American’ in our programs," that’s not the same thing as suggesting Clinton question Obama’s citizenship or birthplace. The memo never advises that."

"It also explicitly states, "We are never going to say anything about his background."

"Furthermore, as the Atlantic and Politico reported in 2008, neither Clinton nor her campaign acted on Penn’s advice."

"There is no evidence to support this. Clinton supporters circulated the rumor in the last days of the 2008 Democratic primary and after Clinton had conceded to Obama. But the record does not show Clinton or her campaign ever promoting the birther theory, let alone starting it."

Just to be clear, Clinton did not promote, let alone start the birther business.

What exactly does it mean to be legitimate? Legitimate to whom exactly? And by what definition?

Legitimacy is in the eye of the beholder. Is our president legitimate? Is our government even legitimate? Why?

Who created this government? By what means was it created? If we were to "start from scratch" today, would we actually want the government we now have?

The idea that any government is legitimate, is an absurdity. Governments are only legitimate to the extent that they have guns and soldiers to compel you into obedience.

This is true for every government that has ever existed in the entire history of the world.

If you don't think Trump is legitimate, fine, I don't care. But he is going to be president, and there is nothing that can be done about it, short of a revolution.
