In Obama's Farewell address, he said...

"Our Constitution is a remarkable, beautiful gift. But it’s really just a piece of parchment. It has no power on its own. We, the people, give it power."

Why should we obey this parchment? Isn't the power rightfully held by the people?

When a parchment is used as a weapon against the people, it has no power.

How is it being used as a weapon against Americans?

People confuse majority rule with constitutional rule. The Constitution imposes certain limitations specifically to prevent the majority from abusing the minority through overpowering numbers at the ballot boxes .

Its worked pretty good so far. And lots of people care greatly about the Constitution.

The truth is, people love dictators, as long as they like their dictator. They love authoritarianism, as long as they agree with the authority.

The idea that people want freedom, or democracy, is a delusion.

People want what they want, they don't really care how they get it.

I told my friend that the political-left would gladly appoint Obama as their King, if by doing so, they could thwart Trump, and push this country "to the left".

Likewise, the political-right would gladly give Trump a variety of "special" or "unconstitutional" powers, if it served their interests.
Nice post! I agree.

You guys will never be satisfied until you grind every single one of us in the dirt and all that's left is your ass-slapping conversations with your fellow alt right cretins.
"Obama sucks! yep, yep, yep, he sure does. Great post fellow Trumpster, Huk, Huk."

When nobody is disagreeing with you, you still have to start threads that just try to bait and trick other posters and lure them into confrontation. You create your own special world of fantasy liberal scenarios just to create a firestorm. The most juvenile, sophomoric type of communication.
The irony is that you won but still can't just let go and move on. Not until you've eradicated every single liberal/progressive on this forum.
You're all a bunch of spiteful, hate filled sick puppies.

MSNBC also predicted Hillary would win by a large margin. They have pretty much lost all credibility.

Neither of those two statistics are mentioned in the article you linked to.

Let me start out by saying, I'm not an Obama supporter by any means. But let us make sure we understand the actual point of the Constitution.

The Constitution was created by capitalists, who wanted to protect themselves from democracy.

Which is why in 1787, the only people allowed to vote, were "white men of property"(IE the capitalist class).

Our Constitution has never protected any actual minority, except the capitalist class. To whatever extent any minority has been protected(for example, immigrants), it is because that class was being exploited by the capitalist class(IE cheap labor).

Our system has worked great for exactly one reason, it has produced the largest economy in the world. Which has allowed us to defend ourselves, and to dominate the other world powers.

This trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power by the democrats is downright dangerous.

Great, and your source also says:

Quote:
a new poll suggests the country is very much split on the question of who they would vote for in a hypothetical election between the two.

Trump came out marginally on top, with 45 percent of respondents
Its all a bunch of hypothetical garbage from the same people that overwhelmingly predicted a Hillary win.
