I have been searching old articles about the protests, impeachment demands, lawsuits and cannot find any!! Surely I must be missing them. Or do liberals not care about Iraqi refugees??

It's nothing more than liberal hypocrisy.

"Their" guy can do anything he wants to do. But if Donald Trump does the same thing, then he is a hater who absolutely must be resisted.

Because: “Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.” - Orwell 1984

He did not ban refugees for six months, the state department stopped processing requests from Iraq for six months while they revamped the process.

Trump has barred ANY CITIZEN, INCLUDING DUAL PASSPORT HOLDERS, LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENTS, AND ANYONE ELSE FROM THOSE COUNTRIES FROM ENTERING THE US.

This is not the same thing nor anything like it.

There was a another thread about Bill Clinton's hard stance on immigration as well.
More selective outrage and hypocrisy from the left

Actually I'm not a fan of what Bill Clinton enacted regarding immigration at all, I think he did a lot of damage.

If you did all that research then you'd realize your thread title is wrong.

Obama didn't strand families in airports or stop students from returning to MIT. Or did he f*** up miserably with his poorly-planned executive order and I just forgot about it?

I feel the most objective answer is that the state of politics is in a state of constant and rapid change. It isn't about "liberal hypocrisy." Plenty of liberals disagreed with Obama on a variety of things, most of the time being willing to voice those concerns. They may still consider themselves supporters of the man, but that doesn't mean much. You don't hear these criticism often, of course, because conservatives don't want to introduce nuance into how liberals think (too hard to make vast generalizations; true both ways, before some asshat feels like pointing that out) and liberals who support him don't want to tarnish anyone image. Which, to the modern American, means there is no liberal who opposes him.

I'm saying if you believe that liberals all love Obama and are without criticism of him, you're being an idiot. Ask around, the average liberal certainly liked Obama, but that doesn't mean he was without any mistakes. Nuance exists and is more common than the news, be it mainstream or echo chamber blogs, would have you think.

As I said, the state of politics has shifted. What may have been acceptable 5 years ago is no longer acceptable, rather there's a concrete reason or not. In a contemporary sense, 5 years is a long time. Politics can change in the course of a week. Think: what was the last thing you hear about BLM? Right now, the woman's march and Trump's various EOs are what's being brought up. BLM is definitely still around, it's just not news worthy, where as literally weeks ago, it was among the most important topics. It may come back, but for not, it's the other things everyone definitely cared about before it became cool to do so.
