Many now require them to work 20 hours a week. So, if no employer offers them a job or all the qualified volunteer positions are filled, they lose their food stamps and starve or lose their food stamps and turn to crimes to get food to eat.

We aren't sending anyone off to starve.

And how are the unemployed going to get food without food stamps? You can't even get help at the food bank here unless you show them a letter stating you're getting food stamps. You would have to shoplift food for survival.

Nobody is sent away to starve. No one. I don't have to nor can I prove something that isn't happening.

Most already do work. Are you suggestion that they should work an additional 15 hours a week for free?

How about mandatory drug testing and it will be random? Also more restrictive on what types of food can be bought on food stamps. There should be a federally mandated and approved list of strictly nutritious foods for those on welfare. The people who pay taxes decide what you get and don't get.First time you test positive you need to go to a rehab class which you will pay for by yourself.Second positive test you are now done no more living off tax payers. If you are not working and get caught in the commission of a crime due to you testing positive on a welfare drug test the punishment should be much tougher as we allready know you are a drug user. You want to be on welfare you need to face the facts the tax payers are your mom and dad we decide what you eat what brand and how much.
Does it concern anyone else that some of these welfare recipients are obese also? You test positive you also loose your children and they will be placed in foster care. Some people are not obese by choice I understand but alot are due to not working and living off the tax payers.

You concern me more than the obese.

Hope, it passes. I am so glad that many middle-American are getting more and more conservative by the day.

I think it is just wonderful how conservative many legislatures are now and with the federal government now on their side, they can pass lots of common-sense, good, conservative legislation for their citizens.

Love how the Republicans control so many states and how the Republican legislatures are now free to pass lots of common-sense conservative legislation.
Common sense? pffft It's about need not about if one uses drugs or not.

Will the test rule out government mandated drugs or government mandated illegal drugs?

So if someone tests positive for drugs and he/she is the head of the family what next, besides how much can you buy in the way of drugs from public assistance.

WHY? What makes them free from the suspicion they allow others to be placed under?
