Actually no. California is as populous as the entire Great Plains and Midwest. The electoral system was designed to give slave holding states (slaves were counted as 3/5 of a person) more say in government. In modern times, it gives rural states too much power. These are indisputable facts.
Trump lost the popular vote so you can't use the argument "what the rest of the country wants".
I sure can, because it is the electoral college that elects a president into office, not the popular vote. Those are also the facts.
Proving how ignorant you guys are. The US economy would literally crash if California left. It's the 6th largest GDP in the world by itself. Your pathetic, worthless fly over states can't hold the country together.

Us ignorant, fly-over, knuckle dragging Neanderthals will take our chances. I don't hate Calexit. Go for it. Get on with your bad selves.
Get rid of the electoral system and the GOP may never win the White House again..... They wouldn't be sitting in the White House without it since it's been decades since they have won a popular vote.
So you want simple majority rule for everything? Or just the things you like?

Actually, you just proved how ignorant you are with the above.

Yeah, but they could give us a great POTUS, and make a bunch of Californians heads explode.
Pathetic, worthless? Depends on your point of view. The OP in denial, thinking we don't support Calexit, then others chiming in telling us we'll be sorry when they leave because they're the 6th largest....blah, blah, blah, when you find out we couldn't care less.
You libclowns don't know if you're coming or going, courtesy those "flyover" states.
I'm still pointing and laughing. You guys just keep giving the gift of laughter.
California isn't going anywhere. I don't care if enough people vote to put it on the ballot. It wasn't too long ago that Tim Draper, a venture capitalist, was proposing splitting California into six separate states. That won't happen either. We'll all just learn to have to get along instead.
California could call for a convention of the states (which is currently being organized to tackle other constitutional amendments as we speak) and the Amendment granting California its independence would have to be approved by 2/3 of the delegates to this convention. If it passed, the Amendment would be sent to the fifty state legislatures to be considered and 38 of the 50 states would have to approve the measure in order for it to be adopted.
I believe most Republicans have really had enough of California. Like many have posted here, get rid of California and the democrats are toast. California leaving would be the greatest gift to the GOP.
So to get to the 2/3 and 38 of 50 the easiest way would be with GOP support. There are only 5 states where the Governor and State houses are Democrat controlled. California is one and assuming they would vote to secede than means if all 25 GOP states vote yes and ten barely half of the remaining 20 mixed states would need to vote for it to pass. Easier than Brexit.
Lets get it to vote!
