Trump hints at cutting federal funds to UC Berkeley after violent protests over Milo Yiannopoulos - LA Times

Hopefully, he cuts off all California university federal funding for the oppression and violence against conservatives.

This is a human rights issue, with an extreme state throwing rights of conservatives and moderates away.

California has zero influence today and the federal government could cut the Democratic state off and face no consequences.

I love California liberal tantrums, because the more extreme tantrums Californians pull, the more likely it that they will lose lots of federal funding.

California has no influence, so Trump would be wise to take full advantage of that.

Default Should UC Berkeley Be Defunded?

Trump threatened withdrawal of dederal funding in a tweet. Berkeley gets over half of its funding from the federal government.

Given its clear disregard for free speech, and failure of the campus to protect all of its students, do you think the gov. Should pull out?

No, and I am 100 percent on the side of UC Berkeley against this orange, insane vulgarian.

Trump won't really defund them. That would create a huge controversy.

But, come on, they LET that happen last night. It's inexcusable that it got to the point where people were beaten in the streets with metal pipes and ONE arrest happened.

Yes, if you defy a Federal order you lose Federal money, there's no if or buts. It's that simple. Wait til other schools start changing their stance or up the tuition. Enjoy paying for illegals.

They should be talked to by real adults that this type of behavior and selective enforcement of rights is not right.

Yes. Students are there to get an education, but judging by the ignorance on display, the school is not doing its job. Why aren't they too busy studying to protest?

Yeah because we want people as stupid as Trump running around.

I'd love him to though, because he'd have every college student in the country marching on Washington bigly.

1. He has no grounds to do it.

2. Lol. Berkley can always con the students into putting the tuition on their credit cards. Trump should really really avoid the subject of universities and funding.

The school gets federal funding we can do whatever we want. If they are committing crimes and engaging in terrorism and the school lets it go on. Then the school is liable.
