He is clearly a fish out of water when it comes to foreign telations and trade. He is supposed to be this great wheeler amd dealer but the few meager deals so far have been accomplished by shaming companies on twitter. LOL

Mexico is Nebraska’s second-largest trading partner, after Canada, with $1.2 billion in trade in 2015, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Midlands ag folks were crystal clear Friday when they said they do not favor any U.S. trade policy that will lead Mexico to retaliate with punitive border levies of its own that might cut deeply into the ability of Nebraska and Iowa farmers to sell their grain profitably south of the border.

“Any disruption of export markets would result in continued downward pressure on farm incomes and farm financial health,” said Steve Nelson, president of the Nebraska Farm Bureau.

Good God, he has been in office less then a month!

All the "fish out of water when it comes to foreign relations and trade", as you call it, from threats to withdraw from NATO to improving relations with Russia is putting the USA in a very strong negotiating position. He is letting foreign nations that for years have been taking advantage of us know that we have options.

The United States has the world's largest economy and access to it should be a goal for every nation. But our leaders gave away access to the US economy for free, they ignored unfair trade practices, they ignored unfair devalued currencies and they gave the same trading rights to dictatorships as they gave to Democracies - all because our politicians care more about campaign donations and $$ money from multi-national corporations then they do their own people.

Until now.

And he's already by far the worst ever in US history by this point. What, you think he's going to magically learn how to be competent and mature soon?

His empty threats alone have destabilized our standing in the world. These states that voted for him fell for his rhetoric and didnt really apply critical thought.

Now they and we are stuck.
