dems without shame are supporting big business at the expense of taxpayers. All the talk about free college and not a peep about outrageous tuition.

Why are the colleges and universities, which are BIG BUSINESS, geting an exemption frm dems ??

Talk about collusion, the dems create a windfall for big business, which in turn supplies campaign funds for democrats.

Would be like declaring all people must buy products from a government designated company owned by legislators supporters.

So sorry to crush your fantasy.

Haha no nothing is stolen, what hyperbole.

Dont want to pay taxes? Fine, then Dont buy a $5 million+ house in San Francisco.

How simple.

If so I totally agree with you.
Yes, they do, in one way or another (public transport etc). Not to mention the pay as you use tax on gas, that is supposed to be used for highway funds.

It's not the inclusiveness of who they are admitting, that's the problem. It's the exclusiveness of who they are taxing.

Expecting rich people to pay for everything is wrong on so many levels. They already pay mega tax compared to the average. In fact 45% of Americans pay ZERO federal tax.

So if you want money to fund something, do it by reducing expenditure in other areas. Or a FLAT tax (but how popular would that be eh?). Even then, the rich will still pay a disproportion amount.

What about those that already have a $5M house in San Fran? They will have to sell their $5M house and pay 35% capitol gains tax, in order to "not pay that tax?"

Not so simple is it

Are you against freeways? Just curious, because I never see this hatred against freeways from right wingers as I see towards tuition free public college and trade schools.

I don't see how explaining to that freeways aren't free means I'm against freeways.

Tuition will never be free. Just because you aren't paying for tuition, doesn't mean its free. You're so concern about the people but don't care if someone else has to pay for tuition.

Another thing, I don't belong to a wing. I'm the guy sitting underneath the table eating a bag of chips while there is a food fight going on.

It is just human nature to work harder and take care of something if you work for it and it is not just handed to you.

Free college might be good for some who would excel but for many it would mean continued entitlement of the spoiled brat attitude.

I'd rather see them put some money toward the people who want to learn a trade.
Yeah, not when you're too exhausted from working 3 jobs to pay for school to actually be able to concentrate.

I don't necessarily think college should be free. But public colleges are outrageously unaffordable compared to other developed countries.

The next crisis won't be the subprime mortgage crisis.. it'll be the student loan debt crisis. I can virtually guarantee that.

Since it's free that means everything associated with it gets their money from charity.

Thank the government for high tuition. These colleges know the government generously hand out loans to students. They raise the tuition price so they can get more money at the expense of the student. Students don't know any better. They fall for the "go to college, get a degree, get a good job" speech.

The government gives students more money than they need. The student takes more money than they need. The student get their refund check and spend it on things unrelated to their education. The student ends up with the actual cost.

Making tuition free doesn't address the problem. No, it just throw the cost on taxpayers.

"Oh they can make a difference in society" at what? A lot of students graduate from college more clueless than they were when they arrived.
