The people around the Japanese PM were his staff, if there is any security risk with their phones, take it up with the Japanese.
There is not a single piece of evidence that there were classified documents at the table, and the source were all of this comes from even said the president, and PM left the room after getting the news.
So, no evidence of classified documents, no sensitive information being discussed for all to hear.
In the Washington Post article that other articles link to say that Abe's team came to them, that Trump did get up and leave the room with Abe and also that it was loud enough to where the original poster of everything has a very hard time hearing what is going on at his table.
Not defending anyone and one would hope this is the case with this. A friend of mine use to be a server with a catering business that served a previous sitting president. She had to have a security clearance just to serve them.
