Or do like Trumpsters. Vote for a con man hoping he would help them after 40 years of disastrous Reaganomics, with huge tax breaks for the rich, destroyed unions and tax money going to bailouts, wars and gifts to big money donors.

Thats not true though. Conservatives overwhelmingly support taxes and taxes in itself is "redistribution of wealth" because the well-heeled will always chip in more than Joe Sixpack. Thats why taxes are progressive and privatized user fees are not.

So you are against taxes. Sounds great. Until you realize that it means the super rich buying your politician and rigging the economy to their advantage like always happens in an oligarchy. You have to choose; either massive inequality or democracy. You cant have both.

Conservatives who want "everyone to have whatever they earn" need to realize that power is a zero sum game. If the big money donor class gets more of it, the Joe Sixpacks get less of it.

Politics in a soundbite
Republican form = "What's mine is mine, what's yours is yours, don't trespass."
Every other form = "What's yours is mine, so shut up, sit down, pay and obey."
...
I prefer the republican form of government, where the people are sovereigns, and the government is their servant. I like it when government secures endowed rights, but only governs those who consent.

But if folks want the democratic form of government, where the people are subjects and the government rules them, who am I to say they can't.

Most of these people who argue about "taxes are theft, no redistribution, evil government etc" simply do not believe anything can happen to them. Watch their attitude change if they become blind and paralyzed, while at the same time having two small children to take care of on their own. Many of these people simply dont think things through until its too late and they are left destitute.

People can only work so much.

If minimum wage is eliminated and the market wage for an unskilled job (which somebody has to do) drops to $2/hr, then even if they work 20 hours a day 7 days a week, that's only $280/week, or approximately $1120 per month...before taxes.

Figure that comes out to maybe $950 after taxes...and that worker will be lucky to make rent, much less food, necessities, car expenses, health care, etc.

And that's if the person works literally nonstop other than 4 hours of sleep.

Why do Dems want to control every aspect of your life?
