Have to admit, I never dreamed that I would be in agreement with Dubya on much of anything, but on this one he has my full support.

“I consider the media to be indispensable to democracy. That we need the media to hold people like me to account,” Bush told Matt Lauer, anchor of NBC’s “Today” show. “I mean, power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive and it's important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power, whether it be here or elsewhere.”

I'll take common sense any day in the week. This gives me a new-found respect for Mr. Bush. When you see someone like George W. Bush taking a position like this you realize just how far out a limb Trump has gone.

Wow!

Bush has come out of retirement to speak up for an independent free press.

Good for him.

Bush should be facing war crime charges over in the middle east somewhere. (that is not a defense of Trump)

Bush was referring to the media, not the fake news media. They should have asked him that instead of softball questions.

Now let's see. . . George W. Bush, brother of Jeb Bush (who didn't make the primaries). . . now isn't that interesting? Sour grapes? Nah, ya think?

Hitler hated the press too, referred to them as der Falschung News and whined constantly about how mean they were to him...Traurig! <sad face>

Yeah.

Bush was quite happy when NBC happily waved the American flag for him, freedom fries and all to promote the Iraq war instead of rasing the red flag about it. No coincidence that at that time, their owner General Electric, is the biggest defense contractor in the world.

This should tell any critically thinking adult what they need to know about the MSM.
