He also couldn't impose that sentence if the DA hadn't piled on ridiculous charges.
That's why I would have voted to acquit if I had been on that jury.
DAs need to get the message that their charges have to have some relation to reality -- even if it means voting to acquit.
I would say the same thing if the defendants were black.
What those defendants did was certainly reprehensible, and would normally merit a year or two in prison.
But the celebration by some here of their harsh sentences is really about nothing more than hating on whitey (or in this case, a Latino "redneck" -- hard not to laugh....)
Could be worse. Instead of attacking Trump here, that person could be on the streets destroying properties and assaulting people like the other animals.
Exactly.
I wonder what the "protesters" carrying the ISIS flag will get in Berkeley for vandalism, arson, and beating random people up in order to prevent free speech?
I expect that a liberal judge -- if they're even arrested and charged at all -- would let them off with a warning not to do it again.
Eh - point a gun at innocent people as a threat, they and/or the police are totally justified to not take just your freedom, but your life as well. They are lucky that they are alive at all to serve a jail sentence.

In your fantasies. However, your fantasies aren't reality. Hopefully you understand that.
Nevertheless the fact remains that they were charged with a crime as defined by Georgia, presumably with the knowledge and general approval of Georgia voters. They were charged by a Georgia DA, elected by Georgia voters, to enforce Georgia laws. A Georgia jury found them guilty of breaking a Georgia law, and a Georgia judge sentenced them under Georgia guidelines. Now please tell me why you are blaming this on "libs". Because I suspect a majority of Georgians would be mightily insulted to be called "libs".
There's a big city in Georgia called Atlanta.
And lawyers and judges are overwhelmingly liberal.
The incident happened in July of 2015, sixteen months before Trump's election, and long before his campaign became prominent. The outcome of the election is not cited as a factor anywhere in the linked story.
Stop simplifying and stereotyping and GROW UP! I expected somewhat less-juvenile behavior from a long-time regular, but usually-logical adversary, but apparently the infantilism over there in LeftyLand is contagious.
Ahahahahah was it that hard to check?!!! Durrrrrr!
I don't care about the confederate flag, the thing was defeated 150 years ago. If some want to display as part of their heritage, I might not agree with it but it's harmless.
In this case, those dumbos are lucky none at the party exercised their 2nd amendment rights. They would have had a death sentence instead of a decade and less than a decade in jail.
Interesting, at least one of these 2 racist people appears to be Hispanic.
