And ban on Syrian refugees will not be unlimited. All existing visas will be honored.

New Trump travel ban removes Iraq from list, officials say

It appears to make more sense now.

This article doesn't say anything about green card holders, but I think it is probably safe to assume that those will continue to be honored as well.

I thought the Muslim travel ban was being postponed because Trump's speech went over so well.

No?

Trump is waiting for his supreme court justice to be approved so he can get the supreme court to vote on it and approve it. There is no new plan that is BS only thing he did to it is he might have added 2 to 5 more countries to it

Default Maddow last night: DHS intel doc contradicts case for Trump's travel ban

Exclusive: DHS intel doc contradicts case for Trump's travel ban | MSNBC

Rachel Maddow reports on a Department of Homeland Security document obtained exclusively by The Rachel Maddow Show that shows that the national security justification for Donald Trump's travel ban is not credible. Andrea Mitchell, NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent, joins for analysis.

Interesting discussion about when and why people become radicalized. I wonder what it will mean for the future of trump's ban?

I know many on here are not Maddow fans, but this is a verified report leaked to her by DHS - please consider watching.

The WH has promised the new travel ban for WEEKS now. Manana, manana.

Maybe they're just walking away from it??

Also NO WH briefings this week...kinda miss that Sean Spicer Show, always good for a laugh to see him sweat bullets.

Yes, it kind of negates the supposed urgency of the whole thing.

Maddow was outraged that the WH said this week they wanted to wait a day or two on the ban because they wanted to let the effects of trump's speech "breathe" first.

The document is from the Office of Intelligence and Analysis, involves several other agencies.

Homeland Security confirmed the authenticity of the document and states they began working on it in August, 2016.

Basically, it says "citizenship in any given country – including the seven countries listed in the executive order – is likely an unreliable indicator of whether someone poses a terrorist threat."

TRMS Exclusive: DHS document undermines Trump case for travel ban | MSNBC

As I understand it, many become radicalized years after coming to the U.S. In many cases, the parents present no problem but their children grow up and become radicalized as young adults.

Thus, "extreme vetting" would be of little use.

Maddow Obtains DHS Intel Report: ‘The National Security Justification’ of Travel Ban is ‘Bullpucky’

Reading from a DHS intel report that was leaked to the Associated Press last month, Maddow said “the Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis assesses that country of citizenship is unlikely to be a reliable indicator of potential terrorist activity.”

However, she also obtained a new DHS intel report dated March 1st, and this one gave the following analysis: “We assess that most foreign-born US-based violent extremists likely radicalized several years after their entry into the United States.”

Question... what percentage of violent extremists are foreign born? That is the ultimate question. Because if foreign born people are causing the problem, then Trump is correct in slowing down who comes into this country.

We can extrapolate this out... all of these "refugees" that were allowed access into the country by Obama and his DHS department will be vulnerable to be radicalized at some point in the near future. This puts a big cloud on Obama allowing the Syrian refugees into the country.
