Yeah... it's probably not that.
I think it's just easy to get trapped by pseudo science and "evil government" theory. It make sense to the layman.

Not in my experience -they're mostly folk with a collection of dog eared magazines, or a list of "amazing" websites.
I think there are those that put a lot more into research, but I don't think it's true of the average conspiracy theorist.
I think that applies to the people who are sort of drawn to conspiracies or are quick to accept them. I wouldn't apply that to people who are skeptical, but open to the idea of conspiracies...there most definitely are some true ones.
