Considering all the hysterics and corruption going on,I think there is more of a chance that the world or just my country will be blown up in a few years. I can take 30 or 40 years to prepare, but 5 years is just too soon. I'm already having a lump in my throat sometimes just thinking about any possibility... Obama coup, Trump impeachment, etc.

Just relax. If we are all blown to smithereens by a nuclear bomb from a foreign country, don't worry about it because we all go together. Plus, if a bomb hits your area, you won't know when it's coming. You probably won't feel it. You will turn to dust quickly. Relax. Just enjoy your life!

None of us know what the future holds. But it's always good form to prepare as best you can for the eventualities that may happen. Not necessarily the sky-is-falling EOTWAWKI kind of scenarios. I live in Idaho and 30 miles from the nearest town. I have two wood stoves and plenty of wood. A freezer and pantry full of food. My vehicles are always kept topped up. We have plenty of water, plenty of first aid supplies (with knowledge on how to use those supplies). We have plenty of tools for self defense (enough said) - also with knowledge of how to use.
The whole world may turn to sh*t, but we prepare for the possibilities that are most realistic to our lives - power outages, road closures due to snow, that sort of thing. Don't drive yourself nuts - prepare for risks you may realistically face, as much as you can based on your knowledge, abilities, space, and finances can support. None of what we have will go to waste if and when it all falls apart. None of what YOU do will go to waste either.
BTW: I have a friend who is a nut case for prepping (for those EOTWAWKI scenarios). She lives in a small city surrounded by a bigger city and close to the interstate. I look at her stash and wonder just how much food, water, ammunition, first aid supplies she could actually carry with her if she had to bug out. She's not in good shape and her husband is in even worse shape. It wouldn't end well for this know-it-all lady who is bound and determined to try and teach me all the stupid crap she thinks she knows.
Actually, this thread is because dying is my #1 fear and I can't seem to overcome it. I'm young and think that I will never have time to have a life, get married, etc. If anybody told me that things will turn to #*$% in a few months and there was nothing I can do about it, I will cry. I don't even see any point in praying about it.

I don't know if you're serious, but Watergate was way crazier than this. Then we moved into the Reagan nuclear cowboy years when the liberal media was whipping up mass hysteria on a level that far surpassed their current hysterics over Trump. Oh, and let's not forget Clinton's impeachment.
