ha, ha ha, perhaps I should be crying.

Trump is running the Republican playbook -i.e. Huge military increases, huge off budget increases (aka The Wall), and billions in tax reductions. As the CBO says: The ND is going to skyrocket.

I know people who are on section 8 for years. 1 or 2 years perhaps but not permanent.

yea but its not the right order of things, you have to get companies in check and get the economy healthy again before you start cutting safety nets.

WE need to close the boarders and implement the 45% tarrifs with nations like China cracking down on anti trust and closing loop holes before we start cutting welfare.

If we do it the other way around things are going to be way worse, especially if the welfare gets cut and none of the economic fixes ever come to fruition, that will lead to rampant crime and a for sure decent into second world nation.

Here comes the war against the disabled. And the GOP supporters are celebrating believing disabled people wont be affected! What a totally irresponsible attitude. Disabled people will now be out on the streets in order to fund huge tax breaks for the donor class that fund the puppets you vote for.

How is this going to make America great? Its appalling.

More right wing myth. Section 8 housing is confined by economics and custom to limited areas and quantity. Has not been a Section 8 wait list open here in a decade and virtually all nice housing will not accept section 8. In fact most is above the rental limits for Section 8.

The purpose of Section 8 was to disperse the problem created by public housing units. And it has had some success.

The idea that we will make things better by making children and their mothers homeless is sophomoric. Starving children living on the street are not acceptable to American culture.

If anyone bothered reading the article:

"Preliminary budget documents obtained by The Washington Post and others seem to suggest that HUD is facing approximately $6 billion in budget cuts for the next fiscal year, which starts in October. Around $4 billion worth of cuts would come from community development grants that provide facilities such as gyms and community theaters as well as funding local services. The rest of the cuts would come out of public housing programs. Assistance for the elderly, veterans, and Native Americans is among the hardest hit."

So they're really cutting $4 Billion worth of feel-good nonsense and $2 Billion for "public housing programs" (which could mean anything including more feel-good nonsense).

That will cause an immediate trade war and then a recession as a direct result. People will stop buying due to tarrifs causing massive price increases.

Lavish Section 8 housing?!?! Did the lunatics take over the asylum? Section 8 usually goes for the worst apartments in town in the worst neighborhoods. The vouchers don't cover anything more than that.

And I say that if you are going to take away public housing, then get rid of occupancy limits and anti-camping and anti-vagrancy laws. Because otherwise, these now homeless people will just end up in jail or prison
