I certainly would trust her judgement any day over the rest of those in the White House.

She's like the designated uncle-watcher at the Thanksgiving festivities.

Yeah, as I said in another thread....as a liberal, I have no real issues with Ivanka.

However, what qualifies her to have a West Wing office and a top secret security clearance? Who is she to deserve one? I am a US military veteran, I had a top secret clearance before and I actually worked for the gov't/military. Do I qualify for a west wing office???

It's sad that, as liberals, many of us simply accept Ivanka's unofficial govt position..... because the whole "keep an eye on her dad" thing actually seems like a good idea.

Now that I think about it, has a non-employee ever received a top secret clearance?

Usually you're US military/civilian employee, or a contractor. Has anybody that literally "has no official position" whatsoever, ever had a top secret clearance? If so, I wonder how frequently it happens?

I held a secret clearance for years and was never a government employee.

I thought the president's advisers were supposed to advise them, not their children. But this is Trumplandia, where insanity is sanity and every immoral action is moral

So I assume you were a contractor? It is quite common for contractors of the US Gov't to have clearances. I have a clearance right now and I am not a federal employee.
