The McCarthy hearings were a bunch of witch trials. But there is a seriously something very wrong with the Trump-Russia connection, and it should be uncovered.

Bad comparison. McCarthy was eventually proven right with most of the people he accused years later admitted to being sympathetic to Communism and supportive of its influence on the US.
