Ya, just like the Nazi's in Germany murdering the Jews, we have the entire Middle East as an Islamic State, and Murdering all peaceful and forgiving Christians and Jews, in mass genocide. While oppressing the female human to bondage.
Lol...bondage? Says the guy that believes that Lincoln had no right to take away southern American's slaves!!
Most religions do not reform and in all seriousness, it's unlikely to solve anything. People who act like the protestant reformation was some magical moment where Europe started being all puppies and unicorns are have no idea what really happened. Largely, it was just a political revolution. The first reformers felt the Catholic church valued tradition over scripture. And there were wars fought over this. And if Islam were to split into a reformed group and a traditional group, there will be civil wars as well. And again, reformation isn't some mark of progress. One major religion had a major reformation. It likely will not happen.
If we want terrorism to stop, we have to ask why it's happening. Sure, the Koran condones violence. It also demands peace. It does both. If you want to latter to win out, you need a fertile place for that to grow. Currently, the Middle East is being torn apart by external forces and internal forced (who often serve external forces). Maybe end policies on our end that fuel this fire, and the Middle East will take a step towards peace and the threat of terrorism will die down. But that's less profitable so **** that. We'll just ignore the moderate Muslims who do voice their concern and threaten to kill them if they don't manage to restore peace to a region that is being prodded into perpetual warfare by various European and Western powers. That will probably work really well...
All the main holy books call for terror and death.
Geez....have you read the Old Testament? It's like a Peckinpah movie times a thousand on steroids.
now now, they don't want you to bring this up, it destroys the lie that Muslims, are different and "bad".
They know damn well the west has stuff just as bad but we pretend it is not there. I heard many a christian say things that are simply stunning and say it under the protection of religious belief. Jesus wouldn't have had a cheek left to turn.
The reform will have to come from within Islam itself, just like with any other group. The group must want the reform, it is not up to anyone outside the group to decide what is right and wrong. I have seen a couple of Islam women speaking, one against this old guy who wasn't really approving of her, pretty good stuff!
Most are too ignorant when it comes to Islam to have an intelligent conversation, but for those trying, go for it!
For those interested, this is a great website: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/ and it isn't the religion of peace. Geesh, stoning, chopping off heads, throwing people from buildings, raping non-Muslim women to humiliate them.......
They should just invent someone named Jesus (like Christians did) just so that they can have a reformation??
That's kinda silly.
There aren't?
Lol...you'd better think long and hard about that. Think REAL hard. Then take a good look at the Middle East and rethink what you posted.
Who in the Middle East is killing people in the name of the Old Testament? Israeli's? Wrong. It's simple self defense against radical jihadists. Israeli's live in Israel based on the Old Testament, but they don't kill in the name of the OT.
Lots of things. I was addressing WHAT people do, not why they do it.
