They know they can just keep raising the price and the students dreaming of career stardom immediately aftewr graduation will just keep taking out more debt.

They already take out debt for living expenses, cars, vacations and lots of luxuries so who can blame the universities for raising tuition and fees yet again.

Its unfortunate for the students who just want to learn and graduate without being in debt. Our local University will be raising tuition 10%----

No, the demand wouldn't necessarily stay the same. Someone who would have applied to a top-tier Ivy League school may choose something cheaper closer to home. Someone going to a private college may choose a state university. Someone planning to go to a state university may choose a cheaper community college.

But it's impossible for me to feel sorry for anyone silly enough to take out debt for a vacation.
