How do you accurately measure patriotism? There are too many variables. Polling is heavily biased & people might not be telling the truth in the surveys.

Well I do not like Obama as a President (Epic Failure) and 8 years of misery. I still held on the fact that we as a country can change things up. HRC is a Criminal and should be locked up with the Clinton cartel Machine. America saw thru her issues and the DNC lost big.

America is Great and under neath the grumbling and the appearance of being divied most Americans are very Patriotic. Even the Snow flakes (which they may not understand) have the liberty to exercise their rights.

We do not see the secret Police rounding up the other party.

American in the end always rally!

Then you aren't an American as being an American has nothing to do with the elected officials as who is in office does not define what this country is, what it stood for, its original intent.

Then again, you don't support the original intent, which means you attach your opinion of this country based on the clowns that get elected into office.

Perhaps what she meant to express was that she was ashamed that so many Americans could be dumb and gullible enough to vote such a buffoon as Trump into office.

An understandable feeling. I didnt vote for HC, nor Trump, but I would not have been embarrassed with HC, just realize that she was a fairly poor choice from 2 poor options. Trump is simply an embarrassment to the US on the world stage, and it reflects on Americans that voted him in.

Because the typical super patriotic American has little else to hold on to... that's why.

I noticed a long time ago, even as a kid, that almost every jingoist or super extreme patriot that I ran into was pretty close to being somewhere between mentally unstable or just a flat out nutcase.

I've never trusted people that are overtly patriotic... I instinctively think that they're hiding something.

Entirely depends on what country you're comparing them to. Western Europe? Those people have been strongly conditioned to hate themselves for being white and European. Compared to nations that resulted from colonial powers drawing lines on a map? They contain a whole lot of mutually hostile tribes who just ended up in the same random bucket.

Compared to S Korea, China, Japan and Russia? We're pretty astoundingly unpatriotic.

What , Trump too honest with what is going on over here and trying to fix what Obama messed up .

Obama ran our economy into the ground, the housing crisis brought on by the democrats that thought everyone should own a home even if they couldn't afford it. The democrats own all the mistakes and the Republican rinos went along with it.. Now Trump is the only one who has recognized the problems, and the Rinos, the democrats and the media are on a self destructive course trying to bring Trump down..

The globalists know we are too rich, and want to bring our standards down to third world countries so we can all be on the same playing field. The globalists will eventually win and we will become that one world government and then we will completely destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons. I read the book and know the ending.

This a Great Country thus is the fact why people want to be American. Yes I am sure their are extremist, however most people do have a sense of being Patriotic and it goes way past who is sitting in DC.

We have grown too much in political correctness and I can see your point. This goes to your point. However most Americans would not live in anther country given a choice.
