We are all animals. We just happen to be smarter. Would a tiger question the well being of the other animals he kicked out for his home? Would a shark not poop in the water for fear of global warming?
So we are a smart animal, but nobody claims we are the smartest animal. We will eventually mess ourselves up just like all animals do. We aren't immune to becoming extinct. It's just a matter of time.
We've done something right to be here so long. We should just be happy about that because I don't think we can solve all world problems.
If you read the details they just shifted control of wildlife refuges back to the states. Who know better how to control there wildlife - the wildlife department in Alaska or a bureaucrat in D.C.?
The regulations were written by bureaucrats (i.e., wildlife biologists) in Alaska.
At the Department of the Interior, decisionmaking is largely decentralized. The overwhelming majority (97+%) of all Interior employees including policy writers are located in the field or in regional or state offices. The D.C. area offices exist to respond to Congressional inquiries, prepare the President's budget and distribute funding, approve/publish regulations proposed at the local level, and pass along Administration priorities, which the regional, state, and local offices then figure out how to implement.
So go to the grocery store and buy your food. No one is forcing you to hunt. You have no right to any say in whether another person chooses to hunt for food or for sport.
It's really simple. If you don't like hunting, don't hunt. Just like if you don't like what's on TV, change the channel or turn the TV off.
Not against, well I am, for sport. No offense if you are not using the animal for medicinal purposes, food, jewelry, and clothing there is no point to hunting. Especially mo point hunting on refugee lands or protected wildlife areas.
I am okay with hunting as a means to survive and the individual utilizes the entirety of the animal in a respectful manner. Now a days really do not need hunting to survive as most food is readily available.
Doesn't matter if you are ok with it. You have no right to demand otherwise.

Hunting for subsistence (e.g., food to eat) is already allowed. This has nothing to do with that. This regulation prohibits indiscriminate/mass killing of predators for non-subsistence reasons. Some Alaskans want to repeal this regulation to allow the mass killing of bears and other predators because they believe it will increase populations of species that many Alaskans hunt for subsistence (food).
