I'd like to think that if illegal labor was off the table, more unemployed folks would enter into the job market and occupy many of the unskilled labor positions that will need to be filled. Those jobs pay low but are a step up into the right direction for hard-working folks who want to work on financial independence. Perhaps more manufacturing jobs that are currently held in part by Mexicans in the many maquiladoras along the border could eventually be convinced to come back and employ Americans once again.

The truth is that we just don't know exactly what the economic impact will be. But what we *will* gain are protected borders, savings on any monies and benefits paid out to the illegal indigent, decreased crime, and a path forward that puts Americans first.

All good points that I agree with. However, Americans were already doing those jobs for a fair wage before millions of cheap illegals flooded our border so why would we there be hesitation in believing that the unemployed wouldn't take those jobs once again?

Because they've been convinced by the liberal left that these jobs are beneath them.

Sure, because the 2% of farm workers that are illegal are going to drive up prices that much.

Not only that but the greedy growers that use them don't pass any savings on to we the consumer but pocket the profits instead. What they do pass on to us are their social costs. They are no bargain now.
