Just the facts, not a bunch of baseless opinions.

If a wall stopped just 9 to 12 percent of illegal immigrants over ten years, it would pay for itself, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, research organization.
Quote:
Based on the NAS (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine) data, illegal border-crossers create an average fiscal burden of approximately $74,722 during their lifetimes, excluding any costs for their U.S.-born children. If a border wall stopped between 160,000 and 200,000 illegal crossers — 9 to 12 percent of those expected to successfully cross in the next decade — the fiscal savings would equal the $12 to $15 billion cost of the wall. The Cost of a Border Wall vs. the Cost of Illegal Immigration | Center for Immigration Studies
If a wall stopped 50%, it would save us $64 billion.
Quote:
If a wall stopped half of those expected to successfully enter illegally without going through a port of entry at the southern border over the next 10 years, it would save taxpayers nearly $64 billion — several times the wall's cost. The Cost of a Border Wall vs. the Cost of Illegal Immigration | Center for Immigration Studies
Lifetime expense of illegal immigration.
Quote:
...the actual net lifetime fiscal cost of illegal border-crossers, given their education levels, is possibly $140,000 to $150,000 each in their lifetimes...The Cost of a Border Wall vs. the Cost of Illegal Immigration | Center for Immigration Studies
So how do we stop illegal immigration?
Build the wall.
Enforce E-Verify.
Cut off welfare benefits to illegal immigrants so they can self deport (and if you think they can't get welfare benefits, guess again).
Quote:
Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops but 29% are on welfare.
Although illegal aliens are not generally eligible to collect public welfare benefits, an illegal alien may receive benefits under the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) and Food Stamps programs on behalf of his or her U.S. citizen child. (Any child born in the United States is considered a U.S. citizen, regardless of the parents’ immigration status.) A 1997 General Accounting Office (GAO) report determined that in 1995 households headed by illegal aliens received a total of $700 million in AFDC benefits and $430 million in Food Stamps. The Center for Immigration Studies on which most of your post relies, is a KNOWN alt-right outlet of white nationalists.

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/cente...n-studies-cis/

Quote:
Notes: The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is a non-profit research organization “that favors far lower immigration numbers and produces research to further those views.” It was started as a spin-off from John Tanton’s Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in 1985. Reports published by the CIS have been widely deemed misleading and riddled with basic errors by scholars on immigration; think tanks from across the ideological and political spectrum; media of all stripes; several leading nonpartisan immigration-research organizations; and by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The organization has also drawn criticism for its financial and intellectual ties to extremist racists.
Bottom line, this is a hate group.

Liberals and ethnocentrics don't care about the facts of illegal immigration it doesn't fit their narrative or agenda. It's been proven over and over in here.

Many of us so-called liberals believe in fact not the racist fiction perpetrated by the Center for Immigration Studies.

It doesn't take much brain power to realize that CIS and FAIR are correct when it comes to the overall costs of illegal immigration.

Who do you think pays for it every time an illegal has an anchor baby? Who is paying to educate illegal aliens and anchor babies? Answer: The taxpayers.

Who pays for it when an illegal alien who doesn't have a drivers license and drives drunk injures or kills an innocent person? Answer: The victim's insurance policy.

Illegals send billions of dollars per year out of this country. That's money that never gets put back into the economy. Add insult to injury as millions of illegals get paid under the table as none of that money goes into our tax coffers.

Illegal immigrants send home $50 billion annually but cost taxpayers more than $113 billion | Immigration Reform Blog

See how much illegal aliens cost your state:

State Cost Studies | Federation for American Immigration Reform

To answer the OP --- The wall is a one time expense that will seriously cut down on illegal crossings. Keeping illegals here is a continual drain on society.

For those who insist that the wall won't work. When Bill Clinton was president, a wall was built on the San Diego/Tijuana border. That wall has drastically cut down on both crime and illegal crossings.

They always question the source, and they always quote CNN! Doesn't that say it all?

It has already been discussed and a Wall will save us a ton of money over continuing to go against our laws and have it be a free for all.

Medicaid: Medicaid Helps Hospitals Pay For Illegal Immigrants’ Care | Kaiser Health News this is not the source quoted in the OP.

This is also on Medicaid, PBS: How Undocumented Immigrants Sometimes Receive Medicaid Treatment | PBS NewsHour

Long but excellent article on the toll of illegal immigration: Illegal immigration takes a toll | Commentary | Santa Maria Sun, CA

Anyone that wants to discuss "racist" and if they actually know what a "racist" is, and I highly doubt it, needs to wake up and realize that our black citizens are getting the worst of it. Anyone that supports illegal aliens is "racist" against our black citizens and blacks are actually a RACE!!! We pay out more public assistance when our citizens are replaced with illegal aliens on the job!

We need the Wall to control who comes into the country, it isn't just about those coming to suck the teat of public assistance, but those that would do us more than financial harm.

That depends. Will he illegal immigrant be supporting themselves and their family? If applicable, and if the parents are supported by the tax payer, will the children become good, hard working, tax paying Americans or will they become another generation who is supported by the tax payer.

lol, so your own source on medicaid clearly states it is less than 1%! in fact about 0.2% of medicare costs, and considering the many billions of dollars in services provided it seems dirt cheap. I would pay a lot more to ensure they stay healthy happy and raising good kids that go to school and get good high paying jobs.
