She is posing with a blank federal income tax form when she didn't even have a federal income tax liability.

What sort of a statement was she trying to make, she didn't even send a penny into the federal government.

So, she is considered a hero by the media for taking a selfie of a blank federal 1040 statement.

'Dreamer's' post on paying taxes goes viral

She is posing with the wrong form as this is the form she should have taken a selfie of the Arizona Form 140

She had an Arizona tax liability of $300 which is filed with an Individual Form 140 to the state of Arizona

The statement she made is that although she is technically an illegal alien, she paid taxes. Since she probably filed online - as any good millennial would - it would be a little hard for her to hold up a laptop with her return. She didn't pay any federal taxes because most college students like her don't make enough to owe taxes.

Holding a blank 1040 is known as symbolism.

I wonder whose social security number she used when filing and then there are those pesky under the table wages.

Regardless, illegals and others that don't accurately report income are likely a big part of the reason why large urban areas have high regressive taxes.

Well, since she's technicaly an illegal alien, why don't we replace her blank 1040 with an airplane ticket home...?

"Viral" on the internet has lost its meaning. Just saying something is viral doesn't mean it is. Disingenuous lazy journalism as usual. Kind of like when they post some "controversy" and it's like two or three people on Twitter complaining about something.

Man the news media are whores.

This is one example of how the US government silently approved of illegal immigration for decades, while greedy corporations lured these people to cross the border for jobs, with no fear of retribution.

It's not fair to start enforcing the rules after ignoring them for so long.

I know it's difficult for some posters to comprehend that illegal immigration is a complicated issue that requires complex solutions. Yeah, yeah, I'm ready for the alt-white alt-right, jeers of Throw Them Out.

"Wanna tell me again how I should be deported, contribute nothing and only leech off this country while the 1% wealthiest people in this country steal from you everyday?"

Yes, you should be deported, you leech off the country, and good job on your accusation towards wealthy US citizens.

You parents failed you, they are selfish and put you into this situation. Do not blame the US, blame your parents, they are the ones who lied to US officials about their intentions when applying for the visa, then carried through with their intentions by not returning to Argentina. Additionally, it is people like your parents who have made it difficult for others (like my relatives) to get a simple tourist visa to visit relatives in the US, due to so many like your parents over staying.

She's a "dreamer" so she has a legal social security number and she pays into the system, but cannot ever receive any benefits from it (though her US children could someday).
