Excellent response to the Confederate flag is offensive/not offensive debate:
"When I meet people like this, I just walk right up and give them the finger. I raise my middle finger in support of their valiant fight for justice. "Hang your flag on this pole of glory!" I shout in defense of their rights!
Oddly, they seem to misinterpret my intentions. No matter how much I tell them that a raised middle finger is a sign of respect and support, they act offended and violated. Frankly, I am surprised to see them so confused by the suggestion that a symbol might mean different things to different people.
I guess I should take their feelings about what a raised middle finger means into consideration, instead of just insisting that they see it my way. I mean, if most people think it is offensive, what kind of person would just go around giving everyone the finger and demanding their respect?

What business is it of yours what others do with the Confederate flag or any other flag for that matter? You may end up in a situation that you don't want to be in.

Depends when and where it's flown. It often goes hand in hand with unacceptable & racist behavior.

One of the silliest moves that I've heard of. Immediately puts you at a defensive disadvantage. As soon as they grab that finger, you are going down.
How many times have you had your middle finger broken? Or do you only do this to little women & kids?

If this guy ( I am assuming ) claims to have done this without getting punched a few times, I dont believe him. And in reality he would have learned after the 2nd or 3rd time that this wasnt a smart move, and stopped it.
His middle finger would be dealt with in short order. This is likely just internet boasting.
People who do that I just laugh at and call them ignorant.
