Thumbs up Sean Spicer reports to Pentagon for Navy Reserve duty

Come on, everybody...

Ya can't knock a guy for serving. The article says he's been in the reserve for nearly 20 years.

We can enjoy ribbing him for his gaffes at the daily briefings all we want, and he deserves it. But it's obvious that if he's been in that long, he's committed.

No 'knock' to his service intended. But as stated, kind of 'convenient' that he HAS to report just when he is catching so much flack over ill thought out remarks. That and he is doing service for the commander in chief which could certainly be considered as active duty. IMHO his reporting to the Pentagon is pure smoke and mirrors.

Ha ha !

Spicer: " Boss, I just got this letter that I have to report for duty !"

Trump: "Yeah, I heard something about that."

Spicer: "Well, you really need me around here, can you do anything about it ?"

Trump: "No, no, I can't. Presidents can't stop you from going."

Spicer: "But, I think you can....after all, you have Executive Power !"

Trump: " No, that is only good for things like launching missiles and invading other countries...can't help you !"

Spicer: "But who will be your spokesman, I have to talk to the press daily ?"

Trump: "Melania is going to fill in, we are moving the press conferences to NYC."

Spicer: "But, Melania speaks broken English, they won't be able to understand her !"

Trump: "Yep, better yet ! We can claim there was a communication problem when they catch us lying ! Hell, I can't even understand her most times, when she babbles on !"

Spicer: "Are you sure you can't get me out of this, it says I will be gone indefinitely !"

Trump: "Nope, no can do, Spicey. Here I packed you a little lunch and your favorite bunny toy, now get out there and save America from those big bad enemies ! We need you !!!"

Seems like a no win situation.
Yes, he could get a waiver. He could also get a delay, as long as he completed his ACDUTRA before the end of the fiscal year. Failure to complete ACDUTRA could mean the loss of the year for retirement purposes.
It DOES seem to be a "no-win" situation!

Like he couldn't get a wavier?

More like 'What can we do to get rid of this guy for a while'.
...and if he did get a waiver, you'd be complaining about that also.

I think it's great that he's doing his annual duty.

What about the deputy Press Secretary? This would be Sander's chance at the big leagues.

She couldn't be any worse and he clearly needs a break.

This little leave of Spicers is very suspicious, especially right now. I have always thought he or Conway would get the boot soon, Spicer might go first. He is really , really inept at his job. But it must be tough lying for your boss every minute of every day.
