What makes a joke funny is the underlining truth behind it. It was funny to the speaker and the audience because they have deluded themselves into believing that the entire younger generation is going to be Liberals,

Believe me they could not be farther from the truth, I consider myself well to the right of most issues, but compared to the children of many friends, co-workers, and relatives I have met, I'm a leftist.

I think your sense of humor says a lot about YOU. Hey, if you find anything about suicide to be funny (Regardless of context), more power to you. For a girl who actually lost several loved ones (a boyfriend, two childhood friends) to suicide, it just turns my stomach, but, yeah, I will get over it.

I remember he said he was being "ironic" in another interview and actually meant "How Horrible"...

Not only does this former Senate candidate, Mr. Fochtmann from Maine, lack empathy or even basic humanity towards the plight of men suffering from devastating mental illness and clinical depression, he is happy about this tragic statistic of increased suicide experienced by his own demographic group.

The self-hatred by some white, male Progressives, including this man, is impossible for me to understand.

Don't try to understand it, because somebody that utilizes common sense and logic cannot understand it. Just accept the fact that many white progressives have this white guilt condition. They deny white guilt exists usually (lately they have been calling this condition as being "woke", but never as white guilt), but that is why they laugh at white male suicides. On the flip side of denying this self loathing/white guilt, they claim that the root of all evil is now "white privilege". If you get the chance, the next time a white male progressive mentions white privilege, ask him if his desire to "do something" about white privilege is based on his awareness due to his white guilt as defined by common dictionary terms (a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime, wrong, etc., whether real or imagined...). Then stand by to hear some circular logic and re-invention of the meaning of words.

There are several things that never ever lend themselves to humor. Suicide, rape, and any comparison to Hitler or the holocaust are at the top of the list. The guy in the video should be ashamed.
