Care to explain this time around how these things will be paid for without taxes?
By people/investors voluntarily pooling their money.
What are taxes but a pool of money (albeit taken by force)?
Are you really of the opinion that there would be no roads, bridges, security, fire protection, blah blah blah absent a govt monopoly on such things?

How do you propose we build and pay for a major bridge?

Not "we" but an investor/s would build a bridge and charge a fee for its use. Do you really think Manhattan would be an undeveloped island absent a govt bridge to access it?

You seriously want to have to stop and pay a fee every time you cross a bridge? How about the road it's on? You going to stop and pay a toll every little bit depending on who built the road? It would take how long to drive cross country? Let's take delivery trucks.......how much would this added time add to the price of everything?

What happens when those upkeeping want to raise tolls? Do we have a commission? What if they are turned down? Can they simply close the road? How many people would increase traffic in town to avoid tolls? What a mess, eh? Do you have to pay a toll entering every city to pay for their roads?

Being that the cost of a bridge is spread out among many, some that never use that bridge, do you realize how high the toll would be for those who use it regularly?

technology has existed for some time now that no longer requires one "to stop and pay a fee".
Yes people paying for what they use, what a novel idea.

How expensive is this going to be when limited to only those who use it? Where will the infrastructure come from? Who will run it? Another level of expense? If you rarely drive the interstate you can't cross a bridge in another state because you don't have the proper pass?

Explain this to me. I've been to toll roads and bridges......most people stop and pay.

It is time for those toll roads to come into the 21st century. We have tolls here in Colorado with no toll booths to stop at. Drivers either have a electronic decal on their windshield, a transponder or their license plate gets photographed. You will receive a bill soon thereafter.

That being said I am not in favor of privatization of all of our roads to get them built. I will pay taxes to help build and maintain our infrastructure.

Not if I don't live in Colorado.
